As summer draws to a close, we’ve been reflecting on the wonderful events that have taken place within the Bombed Out Church.
From theatre & live music to community gatherings & cultural celebrations, our space has once again proved to be a true home for creativity & connection!
Here’s just some of what we’ve shared together this year:

🎭 Theatre - Off the Ground Theatre brought their brilliant production of Treasure Island to the church, transporting spectators from their seat to a pirate adventure of a life time.
🌍 Cultural Celebrations - Savera UK showcased the beauty of culture whilst standing against culture-based abuse, reminding us how important it is to come together in unity & understanding.
We also welcomed the incredible European Festival, which filled the gardens with food, music, & traditions from across the continent.

🎶 Choirs - The church was filled with the sound of music this Summer, with performances from the Cherry Pie Choir, Liverpool Indie Choir & The Wall of Sound Choir. Each bringing their own style & energy to our Open Days.
🎨 Art & Performance - We were proud to host local artist Tony Phillips & his powerful performance piece Above Us Only Sky? which blended art & storytelling against the unique backdrop of the church.
♟️ Community Activities - The church gardens became a stage for strategy & concentration with our July chess event, celebrating Liverpool hosting the British Chess Championships.

🍻 Festivals – Our very own Beer & Cider Festival brought together local brewers & cider makers for a celebration of craft drinks & good company.
🔥 We also welcomed the Liverpool Fire Arts Festival back in May for a truly spectacular evening of fire & mind blowing projections from Focal Studios.
🛍️ Markets & Fairs – The Makers Markets & Record Fairs have been a regular highlight, showcasing incredible local talent, independent traders with plenty of treasures to discover.
💎Art Installations - From June through to September, we were proud to exhibit Technofossils by artist Amy Flynn as part of the Liverpool Independent Biennial.
This summer has been a true celebration of culture, creativity & community here at the Bombed Out Church.
None of it would have been possible without the support of the amazing artists, organisers, volunteers & of course - everyone who came through the gates to be part of it ❤️
