Lunar New Year: Year of the Snake

Celebrate Lunar New Year at the Bombed Out Church as we welcome the Year of the Snake! 🐍

Join us for a weekend of vibrant celebrations filled with activities for the whole family throughout the day - including craft making & a willow snake workshop led by artist Sarah Gallagher from Twigsters 🪭🎨

A vibrant wildflower art installation will also be on display over the weekend, created by a number of local, talented school children using up-cycled plastic bottles 🌺 ♻️

We are so excited to welcome back Kwok Wing Foods, serving their flavourful dishes paired with homemade sauces! Enjoy their delicious creations alongside drinks from our Garden Bar 🥡🍺☕

Take the opportunity to explore inside of the church during our Open Days & view the story of the projection show 'Legends Of Spring', created during workshops with members of the local Chinese community with support & guidance from Pagoda Arts, featured on storyboards displayed within the church on both Saturday & Sunday until 5pm 💚

As the evening falls, experience a rolling 5 minute spectacular projection show 'Legends Of Spring' inside of the church - developed by Focal Studios in collaboration with Pagoda Arts, animator Sam Gee & the local community, illuminating the church from 5:30pm to 9pm over the weekend ✨

Details:

• Drinks hot & cold (alcoholic from 12pm) will be available to purchase from our Garden Bar.

• Hot food from Kwok Wing Foods will be available to purchase in the gardens.

• Fortune cookies, glow sticks & more will be available to purchase throughout the day within the gardens.

• Workshops cannot be booked in advance.

• Please note we are predominantly a card only site for purchases, please bring one to avoid disappointment.

• Entrance to the church at any time is from the Leece Street gates only (opposite the Co-op).

• The art installation & light projection show is open air while workshop activities will take place under cover.

• Both the workshops & the installation are fully wheelchair accessible.

• We are dog friendly during our daytime opening hours (11am - 4.45pm) however we ask that you do not bring your furry friend to the evening projections (with the exception of assistance/guide dogs).

• Please be mindful that we are an outdoor venue, grounds are uneven & slippy when wet. The insides of the church can also get muddy, please keep this in mind when choosing footwear & wear appropriate clothing to keep you warm.
