Fun Hedgehog Facts for Kids!

 

• Hedgehogs are named so because they like to build their nests in hedges and shrubs for safety. They also make a snorting noise which sounds a lot like a warthog!

 

• Hedgehogs have thousands of spines on their backs to protect them from predators. Their spines fall out regularly and grow again over the years.

 

• Hedgehogs can’t tolerate dairy products. So, please don’t feed them milk or cheese.

 

• These little creatures have very poor eyesight and mostly use their smell to find food.
